Virtual Golf is designed to help you play your best, and we hope this article supports you in optimizing your PC's performance to ensure Virtual Golf runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

We recommend restarting the PC minimum once a week to ensure best practice.

Check Specifications of the PC

  1. Open Task Manager
    • Select Performance on the left.
  2. Confirm the CPU is within minimum spec (Intel i7 3.4 GHz or Intel Core Ultra 7)
  3. Confirm the RAM is within minimum spec (32 GB RAM)
  4. Confirm the GPU is within minimum spec (Nvidia RTX 4070ti, 4070ti Super or Nvidia RTX 5070ti).

Steps to Update the Nvidia Driver

  1. Open Device Manager
    • Start by opening the Device Manager on your computer. You can do this by right-clicking on the Start menu and selecting "Device Manager" from the list.
  2. Identify Your Nvidia GPU
    • In the Device Manager, click the arrow next to "Display adapters" to expand the list.
    • Write down the name of the Nvidia GPU displayed here. This information will be needed later to download the correct driver.
  3. Navigate to the Nvidia Website
    • Open your web browser and go to nvidia.com.
    • In the top right corner, click on "Drivers" to access the driver download page.
  4. Select the Correct Driver
    • On the Nvidia driver page, use the drop-down menus to select the correct model of your graphics card.
    • Make sure that the model you wrote down earlier matches the selections in the drop-down menus.
    • Note: Do not select the "Notebook" version unless you are updating the driver on a laptop.
  5. Download the Driver
    • After selecting the correct options, click "Search" to find the latest driver for your GPU.
    • There will be two options for you to pick between:
      • Nvidia Studio Driver (recommended) - A balanced driver package built for stability
      • GeForce Game Ready Driver - A game optimized package built for performance
  6. Install the Driver
    • Once the driver is downloaded, locate the file and double-click it to run the installer.
    • If a User Account Control prompt appears asking for permission, click "Yes" to allow the installer to run.
    • In the installer window, select "OK" and then choose the "Nvidia Control Panel" option before clicking "Next."
  7. Express Installation
    • Choose "Express Installation" and then click "Next" to proceed with the installation.
    • The installer will run for a few minutes to update your drivers.
  8. Complete the Installation
    • Once the installation is complete, the installer will prompt you to either "Restart" or "Finish."
    • If "Restart" is selected, your computer will reboot to apply the changes. If "Finish" is selected, the process will complete without a reboot.

Update Windows

  1. Right click on the Windows icon
  2. Click on "Settings" and choose "Windows Update"
    • Set the "Get latest updates as soon as they're available" on.
  3. Click on "Check For Updates" (Be sure to check for "Optional Updates" also)
  4. Download & Install the updates on your PC

Power Management

Windows Settings

  1. Go to "Windows" > "Settings"
  2. Go to "Power & Battery"
  3. Set "Power Mode" to "Best Performance".

Device Manager Settings

  1. Click on the Windows Key
  2. Search for "Device Manager"
  3. Then go to "Network adapters"
  4. Double click everyone of the pieces and go to power management and tick all boxes off.
  5. Continue this until you reach “WAN Miniport”(don't touch anything in any of them),
    then close.

Select Optimal GPU To Run TPS & VG

(REMEMBER to finish the Windows update before doing the below steps as they will revert to default if not)

  1. Right click on the Windows icon
  2. Click on "Settings" and choose "Display"
  3. Scroll until you find a "Graphics settings" option
  4. From here you can select the "Browse" button and add the following applications from these file paths
    • TrackMan Performance Studio: C:\Program Files\TrackMan Performance Studio
    • TrackMan Gui Shell: C:\Program Files\TrackMan Performance Studio\Modules\TrackMan.Gui.Shell
    • TrackMan Challenge: C:\ProgramData\TrackMan\Virtual Golf 2\staging\_trackmanchallenge
    • TrackMan Challenge: C:\ProgramData\TrackMan\Virtual Golf 2\staging\_trackmanchallenge3
    • TrackMan Golf: C:\ProgramData\TrackMan\Virtual Golf 2\staging\_trackmangolf
    • TrackMan Golf 3  C:\ProgramData\TrackMan\Virtual Golf 2\staging\_trackmangolf3
    • TrackMan Practice: C:\ProgramData\TrackMan\Virtual Golf 2\staging\_trackmanpractice
    • TrackMan Practice: C:\ProgramData\TrackMan\Virtual Golf 2\staging\_trackmanpractice3
    • TrackMan Driving Range: C:\ProgramData\TrackMan\Virtual Golf 2\staging\_trackmandrivingrange3
    • TrackMan Driving Range 3: C:\ProgramData\TrackMan\Virtual Golf 2\staging\_trackmandrivingrange3
    • Once all applications have been added to the list of application you can select which GPU will be used to power the graphic performance, here you should select the high performance option

  • Click Save to apply the Graphic preference.

If you cannot find the applications you may need to ensure that the applications are not hidden in your file explorer. To check this go to "This PC", then click on "View" and then click on "Show" and ensure the the "Hidden Items" box has been ticked. This will then allow you to see the applications.
