PC Maintenance
Virtual Golf is designed to help you play your best, and we hope this article supports you in optimizing your PC's performance to ensure Virtual Golf runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
We recommend restarting the PC minimum once a week to ensure best practice.
Update NVIDIA Drivers Via NVIDIA App
- Press the Windows key and type "Nvidia App" in the Start menu.
- If it’s not installed: Download it from the official Nvidia website
- Install the app, then open it.
- Configure App Settings
- Click on the "Settings" icon (gear symbol) in the left side.
- Scroll down and enable the last two toggle switches as shown in the picture.
- Automatically download drivers and let me choose when to install
- Automatically optimize newly added games and apps
- Navigate to the "Drivers" tab in the left-hand navigation panel.
- Click on "Drivers"
- Check for Driver Updates
- Click the "Check for Updates" button.
- If a new driver is available, click "Download"
- Install the Driver
- After downloading, click "Install" and select "Express Installation"
- After downloading, click "Install" and select "Express Installation"
- The app will automatically install the driver. The screen will flash a couple of times during the installation process.
- Restart your PC (if prompted)
- If the app asks you to restart your computer, please do so to complete the installation.
- Confirmation
- Your Nvidia driver is now up to date. You can verify this in the Drivers tab.
Update Windows
- Right click on the Windows icon
- Click on "Settings" and choose "Windows Update"
- Set the "Get latest updates as soon as they're available" on.
- Click on "Check For Updates" (Be sure to check for "Optional Updates" also)
- Download & Install the updates on your PC
Power Management
Windows Settings
- Go to "Windows" > "Settings"
- Go to "Power & Battery"
- Set "Power Mode" to "Best Performance".
Device Manager Settings
- Click on the Windows Key
- Search for "Device Manager"
- Then go to "Network adapters"
- Double click everyone of the pieces and go to power management and tick all boxes off.
- Continue this until you reach “WAN Miniport”(don't touch anything in any of them),
then close.
Select Optimal GPU To Run TPS & VG
(REMEMBER to finish the Windows update before doing the below steps as they will revert to default if not)
- Right click on the Windows icon
- Click on "Settings" and choose "Display"
- Scroll until you find a "Graphics settings" option
- From here you can select the "Browse" button and add the following applications from these file paths
- TrackMan Performance Studio : C:\Program Files\TrackMan Performance Studio
- TrackMan Gui Shell : C:\Program Files\TrackMan Performance Studio\Modules\TrackMan.Gui.Shell
- TrackMan Challenge : C:\ProgramData\TrackMan\Virtual Golf 2\staging\_trackmanchallenge
- TrackMan Golf : C:\ProgramData\TrackMan\Virtual Golf 2\staging\_trackmangolf
- TrackMan Golf 3 : C:\ProgramData\TrackMan\Virtual Golf 2\staging\_trackmangolf3
- TrackMan Practice : C:\ProgramData\TrackMan\Virtual Golf 2\staging\_trackmanpractice
- TrackMan Driving Range : C:\ProgramData\TrackMan\Virtual Golf 2\staging\_trackmandrivingrange
- TrackMan Driving Range 3: C:\ProgramData\TrackMan\Virtual Golf 2\staging\_trackmandrivingrange3
- Once all applications have been added to the list of application you can select which GPU will be used to power the graphic performance, here you should select the high performance option
- Click Save to apply the Graphic preference.
If you cannot find the applications you may need to ensure that the applications are not hidden in your file explorer. To check this go to "This PC", then click on "View" and then click on "Show" and ensure the the "Hidden Items" box has been ticked. This will then allow you to see the applications.
