Handicap Calculation For Teams Formats

Did you know that you can play virtual golf and even enter into tournaments as a Team with TrackMan Performance Studio. Team Tournaments can be played in single round or Order of Merit formats. Currently you can play in Scramble, Better Ball, Foursome, or Greensome tournaments, using stroke, stroke net, or stableford scoring. Better Ball uses each individual players handicap as you play your own ball throughout the round.

The calculation of handicap in some of these team formats however is slightly different and an explanation is outlined below:

When calculating a team handicap, it is important to calculate the individual players course hcp rounding to 1 decimal place.

Hcp (slope/113) + course rating-par

Scramble:

When all players course hcp is above 0, we use following rules:

· 2 Player teams: 35% of low course hcp + 15% of high course hcp

· 3 Player teams: 20% of low course hcp + 10% + 15% of high course hcp

· 4 Player teams: 20% low + 15% + 10% + 5% of high course hcp

When all players course hcp is all below 0, we use following rules:

· 2 Player teams: 105% low course hcp + 110% of high hcp

· 4 Player teams: 105% of low course hcp + 110% + 115% + 135% of high course hcp

When a team consists of players with course handicaps above and below 0, we use a combination of the above rules:

· 2 Player teams: 105% of low course hcp (below 0 player) + 15% of high course hcp (above 0 player)

·  4 Player teams: I.e., 2 players below 0 & 2 players above 0 = 105% of lowest course hcp + 110% 2nd lowest course hcp + 10% 2nd highest course hcp + 5% of highest course hcp

Alternate shot/Foursome:

(Player A course hcp + Player B course hcp) / 2

Greensome:

60% of low course hcp + 40% of high course hcp
