An Add-in-card is a computer card that plugs into the motherboard of the computer.
Trackman recommends an Add-in card whenever a camera is utilized to avoid issues in rendering the video.
Note that each USB port should have its own dedicated internal connection to the system. USB expansion cards where multiple ports share a single internal connection should be avoided if possible, as this can reduce performance and cause stability issues.
High Speed Add-In Card
The purpose of add-in card is to allow high speed data transfers between a camera (or other components) and the PC. By installing this add-in card, you will have additional high speed USB ports to the PC that can used for the cameras. High speed 3.0 ports are usually recognized by the blue color of the port.
As explained above, the data coming from the camera needs to have a dedicated card to process that data. Without the add-in card the data may be delayed resulting in slow rendering of the video and/or failure to display the video at all.
Adding this gives the computer upgraded function to its video output through high-powered ports, which are used for optimal performance for IDS cameras.
