General | Customer Balances In Booking & Payments

Customers can hold a balance with your venue. A balance works like a store credit, giving customers a monetary amount they can use toward future payments , either during checkout or when a staff member creates a payment manually.

As a venue, you can decide what customers are allowed to spend their credit on. A common setup is to let customers use their balance for bookings, but not for products.

If you ever need to manually adjust a customer’s balance, you can do so using the options shown on the right. A reason must be provided for each adjustment, and this permission is typically limited to specific user roles, such as Finance.

Customers often receive a balance as part of a refund process. When you choose to refund a customer using the charge type “YGB Balance,” the refunded amount is added directly to their account balance.

This approach is a great alternative to returning funds directly. It encourages repeat visits while avoiding additional transaction fees for the venue.
