Windows | How to Change the Aspect Ratio

Windows display settings allow you to adjust the screen resolution, which can affect the displayed aspect ratio. Changing the aspect ratio can resolve issues like image distortion.

  1. Open Display Settings
    • Press Windows Key + I
    • Click System
    • Select Display
  2. Change the Resolution
    • Scroll to Display resolution
    • Select the recommended resolution for your monitor
    • Click Keep changes if prompted
  3. Check the Display Scale
    • Under Scale & layout, verify that Scale is set to the recommended value
    • Common values include: 
    • 100%
    • 125%
    • 150%
  4. Verify the Aspect Ratio
    • Check the Display
    • Confirm that images and applications are not stretched or cropped.
