If you attempt to record in TPS but no video is captured (or the recording errors out), even though live view continues to work without issue, please follow the following troubleshooting steps.
Explanation of the Error
This is typically caused by the camera's configured resolution profile. When the camera is set to its maximum resolution, it can handle the lower bandwidth/processing demands of live view, but fails to sustain the higher throughput required for recording. Lowering the resolution profile reduces the load and resolves the recording failure.
How to Resolve the Error
- Close TPS completely.
- Open the IDS Suite Camera Manager app.
- Select the camera you want to fix, and either choose no profile or load the current profile.
- Go to the Settings tab, then the Size tab.
- Change the resolution from Maximum to 1280x960.
- Save (overwrite) the camera profile.
- Launch TPS again and test a recording to confirm the issue is resolved.
