Projector | Calibration Board Markers Not Showing

If the projector is off during a TMiO calibration, the unit camera may not detect the calibration board. As a result, the board lines may not display correctly or partially disappear, and the unit may not calibrate when the board is placed against the hitting screen.

Steps to Check

  • During calibration, verify that:
    • The projector is powered on.
    • The projector is displaying the expected calibration image.
    • The correct video input source is selected.
    • The projected image is stable and properly aligned.
  • Check Ambient Lighting
    • Strong ambient lighting can reduce marker contrast
    • Turn off unnecessary room lighting where possible.
    • Eliminate direct light sources aimed at the calibration board.
    • Avoid sunlight reaching the calibration area.
  • Minimize Reflections
    • Reflections can wash out calibration markers.
    • Ensure the calibration board is clean.
    • Position the board flat against the wall as instructed.
    • Avoid placing the board where glare from lights or the projector can affect visibility.

Restart the Calibration Process

If the markers disappear unexpectedly:

  1. Close the calibration procedure.
  2. Confirm that the projector is functioning correctly.
  3. Restart TPS.
  4. Begin the calibration process again.

Review Camera Visibility

If the corner markers remain difficult to detect:

  • Verify that all Trackman iO cameras have a clear view of the calibration board.
  • Check for obstructions within the camera field of view.
  • Confirm that the calibration board is positioned according to the installation guidelines (against hitting screen).
