With the new charger, you can now split the bill while charging a customer in the admin panel. You can split the remaining amount across multiple payments. There are two ways to split a bill: Equal parts or By items.
Equal Parts
Use Equal parts when several people are paying an equal share of the remaining total.
- Tap Split.
- If you see By items, switch to Equal parts.
- Choose 2 Parts, 3 Parts, 4 Parts, or Other. The minimum is 2 parts.
- Tap Split.
- The charger shows Payment: 1 of N. Charge the first person, then continue with the next person until all payments are complete.
The remaining total is divided as evenly as possible. If the total cannot be divided into equal amounts, any leftover cents are added to the first payments.
You cannot edit the payment amount while an Equal parts split is active. If you started the split by mistake, tap Remove split.
By Items
Use By items when one person is paying for specific items.
- Tap Split, then select By items. This is the default option when the items can still be split.
- Select the items the person is paying for, or tap Select all.
- Tap Split.
- The charge amount is updated to include only the selected items.
After the payment is completed, the remaining items stay unpaid and can be charged to the next person.

Note: By items is unavailable after you have charged a custom amount that is not linked to specific items. After that, you can only split the remaining amount into Equal parts or enter a custom amount manually.
