Modifiers are optional add-ons that can be included with your products. For example, if you offer a burger, you can provide extras such as an additional cheese patty or extra salad.
Modifiers allow you to customize product options and assign specific prices to them, similar to how optional extras work in a restaurant.
To manage modifiers, you'll need to create modifier groups and assign specific toppings or extras within each group, each with its own price.
You can find and set up modifiers by navigating to:
Admin Panel > Settings > Modifiers
This allows you to organize optional add-ons efficiently and ensure accurate pricing for each extra option.
Clicking on the plus icon will open a pop-up window where you can create the actual modifier that will be added to products.
Setting Up Modifiers
When configuring a modifier, you'll need to set the following details:
- Name – The internal name of the modifier (e.g., Extra Cheese).
- Display Name – The name that customers will see when selecting the modifier, similar to booking extras.
- Description (Optional) – Additional details about the modifier if needed.
- Quantity Limits – Define how many of this modifier a customer can add to a product.
- Settings – Add the specific options or extras available within the modifier group.
Once configured, the modifiers will be available for attachment to relevant products, allowing for flexible customization and pricing.
How Modifiers Work
To set up a modifier, follow these steps:
- Name – Enter the name of the modifier (e.g., Cheese).
- SKU – Used for inventory tracking (this function is not yet available).
- Price – Set the cost of the modifier (e.g., $1 for extra cheese).
- Quantity Limit – Define how many of this modifier can be added to a product.
- Add Options – Create specific variations within the modifier (e.g., different types of cheese).
Assigning Modifiers to Products
Once you have created all necessary modifiers, the next step is to attach them to relevant products.
To do this:
- Navigate to Settings > Products
- Select an existing product
- Attach the appropriate modifiers
Once the modifiers are assigned to a product, customers will be able to add these extras in various places:
- POS Tab: If you have a POS system set up.
- Tables: When ordering through table service.
- Shop Page: If the product is available on your shop page.
- Booking Extras: If the modifier is linked as an extra during the booking process.
This allows customers to easily customize their order by adding toppings or extras wherever it's available.
