iO Ethernet Connection Options

Choosing the right network setup is key to ensuring a stable and reliable connection between your Trackman iO and computer. Below are the supported Ethernet connection options and when to use each.

Connection Overview

All setups require a 1GB CAT-6 shielded cable between the Trackman iO and the computer to maintain proper performance and data stability.

Setup 1: Fully Wired (Recommended)

  • iO → Computer via CAT-6
  • Computer → Internet via Ethernet (USB-to-LAN adapter)

This setup provides the most reliable connection by keeping both the Trackman iO and internet fully wired. It minimizes disconnects and is ideal for commercial or high-usage environments.

Setup 2: Wired iO + Wi-Fi Internet

  • iO → Computer via CAT-6
  • Computer → Internet via Wi-Fi

This setup reduces cabling while keeping a stable connection between the iO and computer. Performance will rely more on Wi-Fi quality, so a strong and consistent signal is important.

Setup 3: Network Switch

  • iO → Switch → Computer
  • Computer → Same switch → Internet

Using a switch allows multiple devices to connect within the same wired network. This is a good option for facilities with structured cabling or multiple systems.

Once Connected

Once your Trackman iO is connected properly, you should see the light in the front turn solid green. If you see other light patterns, you can read what they mean here: TMiO | LED Status Light Indicators.
