This article provides steps for resolving the error message stating “You are running a newer version of Trackman Driving Range (VG3 4.1.679467) that might be incompatible with this version of TPS. You should be running at most version 4.0.”

Explaining the Error

This typically occurs when the installed VG3 module is out of sync with the TPS version. While the message can be ignored if VG3 courses are still playable, the following steps can be taken to resolve it.

Fixing the Error

1. Clear TPS Cache and Temp Folders
   • Navigate to:
     C:\ProgramData\TrackMan\TrackMan Performance Studio
   • Delete the contents of Cache and Temp folders 
   •  Restart TPS and check if the error persists.
2. Delete the VG3 Module
   • Navigate to:
     C:\ProgramData\TrackMan\Virtual Golf 2
   • Locate the VG3 module mentioned in the error (e.g., Trackman Driving Range).
   • Delete the module folder.
   • Launch TPS again. This will trigger a reinstallation of the correct module version.

If VG3 courses are playable despite the error, the message can be safely ignored.
