  • Updated

This article explains the error message "Software Update, iosservice x.xx.xx failed with error code 1" and how to fix it.

Explaining the Error

This error may occur during the firmware update process in Trackman Performance Studio (TPS) due to legacy or corrupted system files, but it can be resolved through a structured set of corrective actions.

Fixing the Error

  1. Rename the Trackman iO Folder. This step ensures that any potentially corrupted files are set aside and not used during the update process.
    • Navigate to your C:\ProgramData\TrackMan\TrackMan iO
    • Locate the folder named Trackman iO
    • Right-click the folder and select "Rename".
    • Change the name to: Trackman iO OLD
  2. Rename the Firmware Folder. This removes any outdated firmware files that may be interfering with the update.
    • Navigate to C:\ProgramData\TrackMan\TrackMan Performance Studio\Firmware
    • Locate the folder named Firmware
    • Right-click the folder and select "Rename".
    • Change the name to: Firmware OLD.
  3. Open TPS and Update Firmware
    • Launch the TPS software.
    • The software will detect the missing firmware and prompt you to download and install the latest version.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.

Once the update is complete, the error should no longer appear, and your Trackman iO should function normally. You can delete the renamed 'OLD' folders if all is resolved.
