General | How To Close TPS Running In The Background

  • Updated

When TPS runs in the background, it stays active without showing on your screen. It continues to use system resources like memory, CPU, and battery, which can slow down your device or reduce battery life. TPS may perform tasks such as syncing data, checking for updates, or sending notifications even when you're not using it.

If it's set to launch at start-up, it can restart automatically and keep running unless manually closed or disabled. Disabling it can help improve performance and give you more control over your system.

How To Close TPS

  1. Open Task Manager
    • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc or Ctrl + Alt + Delete and select "Task Manager"
    • Click "More details" if the window is minimized.
  2. Find TPS
    • In the Processes tab, scroll through the list to find "TPS" or anything similar.
    • If you’re unsure, right-click the process and choose "Open file location" to learn more.
  3. End the Task
    • Right-click the "TPS process"
    • Select "End task" to stop it immediately.

If you're unable to open TPS, it may be because it is running in the background already.
