If you see the message “Measuring is not possible in Standby State” in Trackman Performance Studio (TPS), it means the system is not actively tracking because it is in a low-power or idle mode. This article explains what causes this error and how to solve it.

Overview of the error

  • Standby State: This is a power-saving mode where the Trackman radar is not actively measuring data.
  • Measuring: Refers to the radar’s ability to track ball and club movement during a session.

When the system is in standby, it cannot collect or display tracking data.

The common causes of the error is:

  • No Active Session: TPS may not be in a live session mode.
  • Radar Not Activated: The radar unit may not be turned on or connected properly.
  • Software Idle: TPS has been idle for too long and entered standby automatically.
  • Incorrect Setup: Calibration or session setup may be incomplete.

Fixing the Error

  1. Start or Resume a Session
    • Ensure a session is active in TPS.
  2. Check Radar Connection
    • Make sure the Trackman device is powered on, connected and displays a steady green light.
  3. Recalibrate
    • Use the Auto Target or calibration tools in TPS to reset the system.
  4. Reboot the unit
