If your USB Swing camera is not appearing in Device Manager, it means the PC is not detecting the camera at all. This typically points to a hardware connection issue rather than a software problem. Follow these steps to diagnose and resolve the issue.
USB Swing Not Showing
-
Re-seat the Cables
- Unplug and reconnect all USB cables connected to the camera.
- Ensure the connections are secure and fully inserted.
- Tip: Sometimes, simply re-seating the cables can restore the connection.
-
Use Independent USB Ports
- USB Swing cameras should be connected to independent USB ports to avoid bandwidth conflicts.
- Refer to your PC’s motherboard or port layout to identify which ports are independent.

-
Use Blue USB Ports (SuperSpeed)
- Plug the cameras into blue-colored USB ports, which indicate USB 3.0 SuperSpeed.
- These ports offer higher data transfer rates and better performance than black (USB 2.0) ports.
-
Try Different Ports or Swap Connections
- Move the camera to a different USB port.
- Swap the ports between cameras to see if the issue follows the port or the camera.
-
Test on Another PC
- If possible, plug the camera into a different computer.
- If it works there, the issue may be with the original PC’s USB controller or configuration.
-
Ensure Windows is Up to Date
- Go to "Settings" > "Windows Update" and install any available updates.
- You can also search for additional updates by following these instructions: General Additional Updates to the PC
- Updated system files and drivers can resolve detection issues.
-
Check Cable Management and Setup
- Ensure the cabling is neat, secure, and not overly long or tangled.
- Poor cable management can lead to signal degradation or intermittent connections.
