TMiO | Supported Golf Balls for TMiO

  • Updated

The Trackman iO uses a fundamentally different tracking technology than the Trackman 4. Instead of radar, the iO relies on high-speed camera tracking, which changes how it interacts with different types of golf balls.

Avoid RCT for TMiO

Unlike the Trackman 4, which benefits from the metallic layer inside Titleist RCT (Radar Capture Technology) balls, the Trackman iO does not. In fact, using RCT balls with the iO can reduce tracking accuracy. The metal inside RCT balls is designed to reflect radar waves—not camera light—so it can interfere with the iO’s visual tracking system. For this reason, RCT balls should be avoided when using Trackman iO.

Recommendation for TMiO: White Golf Balls

The Trackman iO can generally track colored or patterned balls, but performance may vary. If you experience issues such as missed shots or inaccurate data, the ball’s appearance could be the cause. In such cases, switching to a standard white ball with minimal markings is recommended to ensure consistent tracking.
