Ball Speed

  • Definition
    • The speed of the golf ball’s center of gravity immediately after separation from the club face.
  • The Use of Ball Speed
    • Ball Speed is created by Club Speed and impact.
    • Ball Speed is a result of many factors such as Dynamic Loft, impact location, Club Speed, and more.
    • Higher Ball Speed generally results in longer shots, so Ball Speed is an important measurement, when trying to maximize distance. As a rule of thumb, gaining 1 mph of Ball Speed can increase driver distance by up to 2 yards.
