Carry Side (Tee to Green)

  • The perpendicular distance between the target line and where the trajectory crosses a point that has the same elevation as where the golf ball was launched.
  • That is, Carry Side is the distance from the target line to where the ball lands if the ground was flat.
• The Use of Carry Side
  • Carry Side is useful to determine dispersion of shots.
  • A positive value for Carry Side indicates the ball landed right of the target line and a negative value indicates the ball landed left of the target line.
  • A value of zero signifies the ball landed directly on the target line.
