Total Side
- Definition
- The perpendicular distance between the target line and the golf ball’s calculated resting position.
- The calculated resting position assumes the ball lands at a point that has same elevation as where the ball was launched from.
- Bounce and roll is calculated based on the Landing Angle, landing Ball Speed, and Spin Rate on a fairway with “normal” hardness.
- The Use of Total Side
- Total Side is useful to determine dispersion of shots.
- A positive value for Total Side indicates the ball finished right of the target line and a negative value indicates the ball finished left of the target line.
- A value of zero signifies the ball finished directly on the target line.
