Bounces (Putting)
- Definition
- The number of Bounces on the ground during the skid phase.
- That is, how many times the ball bounces until it starts to roll.
- The Use of Bounces
- Bounces is useful when improving and increasing the consistency and accuracy of the roll of a putt.
- Generally, players want the ball to roll as much as possible (high Roll %), when putting, to increase consistency and speed control.
- Fewer Bounces during the skid phase would indicate that the ball rolls sooner, which generally leads to more consistent putts and speed control.
