If the PCs Nvidia graphics are having a problem, a DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) is the industry-standard process to completely clean the graphics drivers, before reinstalling new ones. Below is the full step by step process.

Display Driver Uninstaller Process

  1. Download the DDU Utility
    • Go to the official download page: Display Driver Uninstaller
    • Scroll down until you see the green “Download Mirror” buttons.
      • Choose any mirror based on your location (closer = faster).
    • The download will start on its own in a few seconds.
  2. Extract the DDU Files
    • Open your Downloads folder, cut the DDU.zip file and then make a C:\temp folder and paste the DDU.zip in there.
    • Double click this DDU.zip, right click the DDU.exe and pick copy. Go back to C:\temp and paste the .exe in here
    • Double click the DDU.exe, a prompt comes up, just hit Extract.
    • Now delete the original .zip and .exe here in C:\temp.
  3. Prepare Windows: Boot into Safe Mode 
    • Turn on all screens in the bay. The Safe Mode prompts will only appear on one of the screens.
    • Hold shift, then click on the Windows button, and then click Restart.
    • This will restart Windows is a way that will bring up options on the screen. 
      • From these options, click  "Troubleshoot"
      • "Advanced options"
      • "Startup Settings"
      • Then there’s a Restart button in the middle of the screen. Click that.
      • Then in about 10 seconds, a list of 1-9 choices will come up, have them pick 5  “Safe mode w\networking” 
  4. Open System Configuration
    • Go to the C:\temp folder, go in the DDU folder, and run the Display Driver Uninstaller.exe. This will have a black icon.
    • When first running it, a message will come up, click OK.
    • Now you’re presented with the Options checkboxes, which should be set exactly like the below image. Once done, click Close.


       
  5. Perform the Driver Cleanup 
    • Now you’re presented with the actual DDU utility itself that will do the cleaning.


       
    • On the right side, change “Select device type” to say GPU. 
    • Now finally click the “Clean and restart” option in the upper left. This will take about 20 seconds cleaning the graphics drivers and will restart the PC on its own.
  6. Reinstall the Latest Graphics Driver 
    • When back in the regular Windows mode, connect to them again, delete the C:\temp folder, and go to nvidia.com to download and install the latest drivers.
    • When new graphics drivers are finished installing, go in the Nvidia control panel → 3D settings → Vertical sync, turn this ON and hit Apply.
