Sleep mode helps save power by putting your PC into a low-power state after a period of inactivity. You can adjust how long Windows 11 waits before going to sleep by following the steps below.
Change Sleep Timeout from Settings
- Open Settings
- Press Windows Key + I
- Access Power & Battery Settings
- Click "System"
- Select "Power & battery"
- Adjust Screen and Sleep Timers
- Expand Screen and sleep
- Choose how long you want for:
- Screen to turn off
- PC to go to sleep
You can set different timeouts for:
- On battery
- When plugged in
Change Sleep Timeout Using Control Panel
- Open Control Panel
- Type Control Panel in Windows Search
- Press Enter
- Go to Power Options
- Click Hardware and Sound
- Select Power Options
- Edit Plan Settings
- Click Change plan settings next to your active power plan
- Adjust Put the computer to sleep
- Click Save changes
