Windows | How To Pin TPS to the Desktop

In Windows 11, creating shortcuts for your applications allows you to quickly access your most frequently used programs. Having Trackman Performance Studio readily available on your desktop ensures you can launch the application efficiently, minimizing setup time and improving overall productivity. 

How To Create Desktop Shortcuts

Method 1: The Drag-and-Drop Method

  1. Press the Windows key or click the Start icon on your taskbar.
  2. Click All apps in the top-right corner of the Start menu to view the full list of installed programs.
  3. Locate the app you want to place on your desktop.
  4. Click, hold, and drag the app’s icon onto an empty space on your desktop, then release the mouse button to create the shortcut. 

Method 2: The "Send to Desktop" Method

If you are accessing the app through File Explorer or its installation folder:

  1. Right-click the app’s executable file or its existing shortcut.
  2. Click Show more options (or press Shift + F10).
  3. Hover over Send to and select Desktop (create shortcut). 

Method 3: Pinning to the Taskbar or Start Menu

If you prefer not to use desktop shortcuts, you can pin apps for easy access:

  1. Open the Start menu and find the app.
  2. Right-click the app’s icon.
  3. Select Pin to taskbar or Pin to Start.
