This guide will inform you on information relating to the battery of your unit, as well as guide you through steps to help fix battery life issues.

General Information on a TM4's Battery

• The TM4 battery life is generally between 3 to 5 hours when fully charged. 
• Battery capacity in TM4 is about 85Wh – 10.4Ah at 7.2V nominal
• Maximum safe input voltage is about 20 Volts
• Under 12V charging voltage, it is rated to 2A external PSU – charging will take longer
• Above 12V charging voltage, it is rated to 3.4A external PSU

Best Practice

• Maintain charge between 20%-80%
  • Try to keep the battery between 20% and 80% charge and around 20°C (room temperature) as much as possible
• Recharge promptly after full discharge
  • If the battery runs completely empty, recharge it as soon as possible. Don't leave it empty for long periods
• Charge to 80% if not using immediately
  • If you don’t plan to use the TM4 right after charging, best practice is to only charge until around 80% to reduce strain on the battery
• Avoid extreme temperatures
  • Do not store the unit in extreme temperatures, such as in direct sunlight or in a cold car overnight as this could shorten the battery's lifespan.

When the unit is powered off the blinking light indicates the remaining battery and is negligible power consumption, using less power than the internal clock unit.

Battery Conditioning Instructions

1. Go to the Trackman Web interface. See steps to do that here: How To Connect To Trackman Web Interface
2. Go to "Setup" > "Advanced"
3. Turn on “Battery Conditioner”
4. Click "Apply"
5. Let it run empty on the battery (without turning it off)
6. Recharge to how far it can go (charge for 3 hours)
7. Let it run empty again
8. Recharge it fully
9. Now the battery should be fixed
10. Please note the LED front panel will turn off when using the battery conditioner
11. Check web interface if in doubt on whether the radar is powered on or not
