TM4 | Ethernet Connection Setup To PC

Below are instructions on how to connect a TM4 radar to a PC by hard wiring the radar using an ethernet cable. See the two methods for doing this below.

  1. Method 1: Plug the TM4 directly to the PC via Ethernet

    • If you connect the cable directly from the TM4 to the PC, you must enable service discovery (“Turn on network discovery”) for both guest and private networks.
      • At the bottom of your screen, use the search bar and open "Control Panel"
      • Then click the Network and Internet button
      • Next, click the “View network computers and devices” button
      • Now click the icon in the top bar that says Network and Sharing Center
      • Last, make sure that Network discovery, and File and printer sharing are both turned on

    • This will allow the TM4 to get an IP address on the PC.
    • Once connected, it will show as an “Unidentified network” on the Ethernet adapter. This is the TM4 and it is normal to see it displayed with no internet.
  1. Method 2: Plug the TM4 through the internet router

    • Connect the TM4 to your router with an ethernet cable and have the router connected to the PC.
    • Once connected, you’ll find the radar automatically in TPS.
