The Importance of Altitude in Course Play
Altitude is a very important factor when paying golf. For example. at The Reserve at Moonlight Basin (image below), the altitude is 2100m or 7000ft above sea level.
- When playing any given course you can select the settings in the top left corner where it says "TRACKMAN".
- Then select the "Game" tab and check the altitude in the course settings. In our example the elevation is 7198ft above sea level.
- This means the ball will travel roughly 10% further in the air than at sea level.
