Setting Up Printing for Kitchen Orders

If you have a printer in the kitchen, but orders are taken at the counter, you’ll need an app to send print jobs to the kitchen printer.

Printing from a Windows PC

To set up printing from a Windows PC, follow these steps:

1. Create a desktop shortcut for the POS system:
2. In the shortcut’s address field, enter the following: "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --kiosk-printing https://yourgolfbooking.com/venues/YOUR-VENUE-SLUG/admin/pos/tiles
3. Launch the shortcut and navigate to the “Live Sales” button.
4. Select the correct order type and location (e.g., “Restaurant” for kitchen orders, “Bar” for drink orders).
5. Once the Live Sales window is open, minimize it (do not close it).
6. Use a separate browser tab to take orders at YourGolfBooking.com/YourVenue

Please note: Do not navigate away from or close the Live Sales tab. If you do, auto-printing will stop.

Printing from an Android Device

To enable printing from an Android device, follow these steps:

1. Ensure you have a network-connected printer.
2. Assign a fixed IP address to the printer so it can be easily located on the network.
3. Use a high-performance Android tablet (avoid low-end devices for better performance).
4. Install the YGB Companion App on the tablet. Download the app here: https://companion-app.ygb.golf/.
5. Add the printer to the app using its IP address.
6. Add the YGB POS View to the home screen on the tablet.
7. Create a Live Purchase View filter to ensure the correct items are printed (e.g., food items to the kitchen, drinks to the bar).
8. Assign flags to products for filtering (e.g., tag drinks as “bar items” so they print to the correct location).
9. Open the Live Sales View from the POS system. Keep the Live Purchase Filter View window open at all times to enable auto-printing.
