Projector | Challenges With Aspect Ratios And Display Monitors

  • Updated

The touchscreen’s aspect ratio defines the projector’s aspect ratio. If the touch screen and the projector do not share the same aspect ratio, it will cause black bars. Modifying the projector’s aspect ratio to fill the impact screen may cause calibration and accuracy issues.

  • Mirroring a 16:9 monitor on a 4:3 projector screen will cause vertical black bars.
  • Mirroring a 4:3 projector screen on a 16:9 monitor will cause horizontal black bars.

If you want more information on the different aspect ratios, see Projector | Aspect Ratios.

Best alternative if your projector screen is not 16:9

Always leave your projector’s aspect ratio at default (4:3 or 16:9) and only stretch the display monitor image. TPS uses the impact screen to calibrate, therefore, any stretch on this image may cause calibration issues.
