Individual Routers per Bay

Some facilities choose to install a separate router in each bay to simplify the connection of wireless devices like cameras. While this method can offer convenience in certain setups, it is not recommended due to potential network instability.

  • Each bay has its own individual router.
  • Wireless cameras and other peripherals connect to the local router.
  • Each router connects independently to the internet.

Advantages

  • Simplifies wireless camera pairing per bay
  • Offers localized control over each bay’s network
  • May be easier to manage in segmented or modular installations

Limitations

  • Not recommended due to Wi-Fi instability
  • Each router constantly scans for the least busy channel, which can cause interference
  • Increased risk of network conflicts and inconsistent performance
  • Harder to manage and troubleshoot across multiple bays
